Earlier, the Municipal Manager visited and encouraged a group of 30 young girls undertaking a three-month course in Bakery and Pastry at the Catholic Church compound. The trainees are drawn from Saku, Laisamis, Kalacha, Maikona, and Turbi, with generous support from the Safaricom Foundation, Catholic Relief Services, Caritas Marsabit, and the County Government of Marsabit.

The Municipal Manager emphasized that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a central role in transforming the lives of young people, empowering them with practical skills, and reducing vulnerability to peer pressure and social ills.
